The Ro-Ro Terminal (TERRA), which handles and operates ro-ro ships in the port of Abidjan, has obtained the "Green Terminal" label, issued by Bureau Veritas, thus attesting to the effective reduction of the impact of its activities on the environment.

TERRA is committed to this certification process. Since October 2021, they have focused efforts on several aspects, in particular the awareness and involvement of its employees in environmental issues, the implementation of actions to reduce paper and plastic waste, the optimization of water and energy use in addition to rational management of handling equipment allocation.

"TERRA is proud to have been awarded the Green Terminal label, as it has been working for several years to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. It also reflects our commitment to work towards achieving our performance objectives while associating eco-responsible processes'', said Joël Broux, General Manager of TERRA.

A modern terminal built by international standards, TERRA handled 39,854 vehicles and 22,617 TEU containers in 2021. The company is now looking to consolidate its environmental approach by recovering and recycling waste, supporting environmental initiatives and acquiring more energy-efficient equipment.

The "Green Terminal" label launched in June 2021 by Bolloré Ports, in partnership with Bureau Veritas, aims to reduce the carbon footprint of its activities based on a methodology covering all environmental concerns. Since launching the process, eight of their terminals have gained the label, whilst ten more expect to do so in the coming months.

Based on the operating agreement signed on December 19, 2008, with the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, Abidjan Roll-on/Roll-off Terminal (TERRA), a subsidiary of Bolloré Ports, is a joint stock company that started its activities on January 1, 2010. TERRA's purpose is to handle and operate ro-ro ships in the port of Abidjan on a single site.

With the support of its shareholders, the company has equipped itself with modern equipment and competent personnel to guarantee services that meet the needs and expectations of its customers.
