Prior to the Firt Lady's statement, the Minister of Family and Children, Nassénéba Touré declared :"Here and now, I would like to solemnly invite you to greater solidarity in order to create networks that will constitute springboards to better address your needs and facilitate the achievement of our common goals," . On the theme "Equal opportunities for a sustainable future in Côte d'Ivoire", this commemoration was also an opportunity to distinguish in the Order of Merit of Women and Family, seven ladies who have set their mark in the promotion of gender.
First, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara who was made Commander, received her insignia from Grand Chancellor of the National Order, Henriette Dagri-Diabaté. Ms. Namizata Sangaré (President of the CNDH), Ms. Odile Pohann (child psychologist) and Ms. Mariam Dao Gabala (economist) were elevated to the rank of Officers while Ms. Brou Oussou N'Goran (farmer in Bouaflé, Marahoué region), Ms. Koné Salimata Abou (retired midwife) and Ms. Soro Bintou (president of an association in Poro) were decorated as Knights. As a reminder, Minister Nassénéba Touré was the very first person to be decorated as Commander in the Order of Merit of Women and Family, on February 22, during the official launch of the IWD 2022 organized at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire. The Order of Merit of Women and Family was established by presidential decree No. 2021-481 of November 3, 2021.
