The sad news was confirmed by the family of the 82-year-old legend who died on the night of Friday, September 4th, 2021 in Cocody.
Hailing from Daloa (Mid-West), Leonard Groguhet worked as an administrative assistant before his military service in the 50s.
In 1959, upon enrolling at the "Centre National d'Art Dramatique", the opportunity came nocking in the play, "Le Médecin malgré lui", before pursing Theatre training in Paris until 1965 at the "Institut d'Études Théâtrales de la Sorbonne".
In 1969, Mr Groguhet thought Theatre at the "Institut National des Beaux-Arts". Nicknamed the "Ivorian Louis de Funès", Actor, Comedian and Director, Léonard Groguhet found fame in the satirical TV series "Comment ça va". In the early 2000s, the man with the eternal moustache played the role of a father in the iconic Ivorian Sitcom "Ma Famille" alongside Akissi Delta, Therese Taba and a string of leading men such as Michel Gohou.
Tributes have been pouring in to praise the achievements of the man who has been a cultural icon for nearly half a century. He is mourned by a large biological family and millions of adoring fans.
