First Lady Dominique Ouattara & Children Of Africa Foundation In Support Of The Muslim community

The First Lady Dominique Ouattara, President of the Children Of Africa Foundation offered gifts of food worth 130 million CFA francs to the Muslim community on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in Cocody. She asked muslim religious leaders to pray for peace and stability in the country.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dear brothers and sisters,

I am happy to meet you again as it is customary every year, during the blessed month of Ramadan in sharing and spirituality.

I would like first of all to greet and thank Minister Vagondo DIOMANDE for taking part in this ceremony of donation. Thank you, dear brother, for this mark of interest in the actions of the Children Of Africa Foundation and for your presence at our side today.

Our sisters, Ministers Myss Belmonde DOGO and Nasseneba TOURE, are also with us this morning and I would like to greet them and thank them for their support.

My greetings also go to Mr. Drissa KONE, special advisor of the President,  in charge of cults, as well as Mr. Messamba BAMBA, Director General of cults, for their presence among us. I note an important presence of our venerable religious guides and I am very happy. I would like to send them my warm greetings. They are : El Hadj Imam KONE DAOUD, Executive Secretary of COSIM, representing the President of COSIM, Spokesman of the Muslim community; El Hadj Lamine Sy SAVANE, Caliph General of the Federal Council of Tidjanis of Côte d'Ivoire; And El Hadj Imam CISSE Djiguiba, Rector of the Plateau Mosque, Director General of the AL BAYANE Media Group.

I associate to his greetings the Imans El Hadj Ibrahim Koné and El Hadj Haroun Koné. I would also like to greet very affectionately my sisters who came to support us: Mrs. Sarah SAKHO, Vice-President of the SENAT; As well as Mrs. Rokia OUATTARA; Sita KEITA; Bintou BAMBA; Oumou COULIBALY and my niece Saran OUATTARA.

Thank you to all dear sisters for your availability and your support.

My greetings also go to all the other representatives of Muslim associations and to all our Muslim brothers and sisters here present. Finally, I greet the members of the Children of Africa Foundation, as well as our friends from the press who came to cover this event.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear brothers and sisters,

We are now in the month of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and blessing for the Muslim community.

During this period of great spirituality, our needy brothers and sisters need to be supported in order to be able to fulfill the obligatory fast with serenity. Therefore, every year, "Children Of Africa" Foundation offers donations of food and prayer mats, to enable our brothers and sisters to fully enjoy the month of Ramadan.

Thus, this year, donations worth 130 million F CFA, which have just been listed by Mrs. Nadine SANGARE will be offered to our brothers and sisters in need and we hope that God will approve their fasting and their prayers.

These gifts will be received by

- The religious guides; - Mosques in the District of Abidjan and in the interior of the country; - and by about sixty NGOs and Muslim associations.

Dear religious guides,

I cannot end my speech without asking for your prayers for peace and stability in our country, without which no development is possible.

Dear religious leaders, I could not leave you without asking for your prayers for peace and stability in our country, without which no development is possible. I also ask you to pray for my dear husband, President Alassane OUATTARA who really needs your prayers to carry out his mission. Our leaders and our population need your invocations to keep alive the values of solidarity and sense of belonging in Côte d'Ivoire.

Finally, I wish you all an excellent month of Ramadan 2022 and may God bless our country.
