FIF - Ivory Coast election

Didier Drogba, Idriss Diallo and Sory Diabaté's candidacies were approved pending FIFA investigations to determine if they are fit for purpose. The Electoral Commission of the Ivory Coast Football Federation made public the validated candidacies from a pool of six.

To no surprise, Didier Drogba, Yacine Idriss Diallo and Sory Diabaté have all been approved and validated pending the Disclosure and Barring Service check by FIFA to ensure that candidates are fit for purpose.

The suspense is lifted, at least for now. After study and analysis, the three challengers gained approval of the Normalisation Committee, which acts as the Electoral Commission.

The integrity inquiry results will only be disclosed after the election

Ms Mariam Dao Gabala has already warned the candidates. "Following decision number 02 2022 CN-FIF of April 14, 2022, the outcome of background checks will only be available after the election on April 23, 2022, "said Ms Mariam Dao Gabala.

Election results will be quashed, if a winner is found guilty of any wrongdoing by investigators, and new elections will take place under the supervision of CAF and FIFA for the appointment of a new president and other members of the executive committee.

In simple terms, the selected candidate will have to wait for the results of the Disclosure Bearing Service conducted by FIFA. It is not possible to waive the outcome of the investigation.
