The Ivorian Senate president Mr Jeannot Ahoussou defended the 2020 financial management for the smooth running of the institution before the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee on Thursday, August 5, 2021, in Abidjan.

"At the level of the Senate office, we must report to the "CAEF", which overseas the management of the Senate president. We are the controller of the executive, but we also must be controlled at our level," said Jeannot Ahoussou, before submitting to this constitutional and legal obligation.
Mr Koumoué Koffi Moïse, the head of the (CAEF) confirmed that the regulatory provisions, including Article 159, indicate that this committee is responsible for examining the Senate accounts under the conditions provided by the budgetary and accounting regulations.
"All members of the CAEF appreciated this gesture of the President. We have taken note, and we will report any misunderstandings in the figures proposed." The committee will assemble in the coming days in Yamoussoukro. Then, report within a month to the Senate President.
