Abidjan - Sports Minister Paulin Danho dreams of a "competitive and conquering " national team, which must be the pride of the Ivorian people for Africa Cup of Nations 2023 on home soil.

"After the challenge of the quality of infrastructure, we look forward to building a competitive, conquering, homogeneous, strong and united national team. A team of which the Ivorian people will be proud", said Mr. Danho.

Côte d'Ivoire beat Togo in a friendly (2-1) on Saturday before a head to head with the Syli of Guinea in Amiens on September 27.

The competition will take place in the vibrant cities of Abidjan, Bouaké, Yamoussoukro, Korhogo and San Pedro on six stadiums, including two in Abidjan.
