37-year-old Guinean woman arrested for human trafficking and alleged kidnapping in Liberia

07/06/2022 - Reports from Liberia National Police (LNP) indicated on June 03 that a 37-year-old Guinean national was under arrest for alleged kidnapping and human trafficking. According to the Liberian News Agency ( LINA), the suspect Fanta Traore was arrested on May 30, 2022, in the community of Jacob Town in Monrovia with two children, aged six and eight respectively, picked up in the Guinean village of Bambeta, and brought to Monrovia to sell them.

According to the LNP, the suspect is in detention at police headquarters for further investigation. Both children's families are in Liberia to assist in the ongoing investigation. The Guinean Embassy in Liberia is informed.
